Hello everyone,
I bought a Sharp Aquos TV 2 or 3 years ago and I've never been able to play a movie from a USB drive plugged into one of the TV's ports. I've formatted this drive (FAT, FAT32, NTFS,...) and tried different video formats (DivX, MKV,...) but nothing works. Here’s the situation:
- The USB drive plugged into the TV blinks.
- I waited for a long time thinking it might be the data transfer.
- In the "signal source" menu, the media player logo is not selectable.
Please let me know if I need to buy a specific USB drive or if I should format it in a different format than the ones I’ve already tried.
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Another solution is to connect a storage device compatible with NTFS to one of the 3 USB ports. Good news, NTFS formatting is accepted, which opens the door to large videos, and thus HD. The media player offers good management of different codecs (only VC-1 is not recognized). Likewise, a vast majority of containers are supported: AVI, DivX, MKV, MP4, MTS, M2TS, and WMV, as well as the various audio tracks (AAC, AC3, DTS, and MP3) and subtitles embedded in the file.
disheartened...
