Hello everyone,

I bought a Sharp Aquos TV 2 or 3 years ago and I've never been able to play a movie from a USB drive plugged into one of the TV's ports. I've formatted this drive (FAT, FAT32, NTFS,...) and tried different video formats (DivX, MKV,...) but nothing works. Here’s the situation:
- The USB drive plugged into the TV blinks.
- I waited for a long time thinking it might be the data transfer.
- In the "signal source" menu, the media player logo is not selectable.
Please let me know if I need to buy a specific USB drive or if I should format it in a different format than the ones I’ve already tried.
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Hello

Yes. It is advertised as a "smart" TV and accepts USB sticks. There are 3 ports available, one of which is for Wi-Fi. I tested all of them, in vain.

however, according to a test it should work

Another solution is to connect a storage device compatible with NTFS to one of the 3 USB ports. Good news, NTFS formatting is accepted, which opens the door to large videos, and thus HD. The media player offers good management of different codecs (only VC-1 is not recognized). Likewise, a vast majority of containers are supported: AVI, DivX, MKV, MP4, MTS, M2TS, and WMV, as well as the various audio tracks (AAC, AC3, DTS, and MP3) and subtitles embedded in the file.

Hello
Basic question that might solve all the issues: can your TV read videos from USB??

(For example, my Sony only reads jpg images)
