Hello
when I plug my USB key into my laptop with Windows 7, it shows up on the computer, but when I click on it, I get the message "Insert a disk into drive E."
Do you have a solution? Thank you.

Yes, there are a lot of forums where people say that, but first I prefer to ask for help because it's almost new and it's a 32.
Hello
Right-click on "computer" then click on "manage".
In the window that opens, in the left pane, click on "disk management".
Check if the drive appears and see if a letter is assigned to it. If not, right-click on it and then "activate" and assign a letter to the drive.

You can always try this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtbb0jV3eUg
But if it doesn't show up from the list disk step...

Hello.
I agree with Hombourgeois but do try this final procedure nonetheless. First, remove the USB drive. Then go to the registry. If you're not sure, first back up the registry.
1. Open the Start menu >> Run, type regedit and press Enter, this will open the registry editor.
2. Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > StorageDevicePolicies
Note: If the StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you will need to create it.
3. Double-click on the WriteProtect key in the right pane and set the value to 0 in the Value data box and click the OK button.
4. Exit the Registry, restart your computer, then reconnect your USB drive to your computer.
These are just suggestions... Bye

Good evening
I arrive at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then on the right I only have the name "" ab(default) type REG SZ data (undefined value)
I don't see ::> SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > StorageDevicePolicies
Maybe I'm skipping 1 step but I've reread and did as instructed

Hello again
Okay, I found it
but I'm stuck at StorageDevicePolicies, in Control I have storage but only, I have deviceClass and deviceOverrides and below policies but not together
when I create a new key do I put a name on it
Sorry, but I'm not very skilled at all these operations so I'd rather take it slowly
Thanks for your help

Hello.
If you don't have StorageDevicePolicies, don't touch anything else. You will create this folder. Right-click on Control, then on New and Key.
Look for the new key further down (it works in alphabetical order). Right-click and rename this key StorageDevicePolicies.
Look for this key again and right-click >> modify. Set the value to 0. But for this new key, you will need to include another one. So do the same operation as before by clicking on StorageDevicePolicies and rename the new key WriteProtect, giving it the value 0.
Close regedit and restart your PC for these changes
to take effect.
Try your USB stick again. You have a one in two chance (obviously!!!)
So good luck.
This is just a suggestion... See you later.

No, there is no error. But as I told you, you need to include a new key in StorageDevicePolicies..
Look for the key you created, StorageDevicePolicies, right-click on it, and select New and then Key. This last key needs to be renamed to WriteProtect (be careful not to put any spaces and respect the capitalization). Then you also need to set its value to 0. Close regedit and restart your computer.
See you later!
