Hello,
The term "background" has always been confusing in PowerPoint because it refers to two things:
- the slide background which becomes "inaccessible"
- the objects that we place behind others.
I only keep the first case in mind, as the second shouldn't pose a problem.
So, to remove a background, right-click in the margin or outside the slide, "Format Background". You should have "Fill with image or texture" checked. Select "Solid Fill" for example.
If you want to modify this image (graphic?) and if you don't have the original, you first need to save it: right-click in the margin or outside the slide, "Save Background". Modify the image with editing software and place it back as the background if needed.
Since it is possible that this graphic was placed in the master slide and maybe not as a "background", first take a look in the "View" tab, "Slide Master".
If all this doesn't work, please clarify how this "graphic" appears.
