Objects not functioning after conversion to PDF

Hello everyone,

I have a little problem that bothers me a lot with a Word document.

My Word document contains inserted objects that link to other documents (namely a PDF and an Excel file).
In my version of Word, when I click on these icons, everything works fine—the files open and I can view them.

However, once I convert my main file to PDF, the inserted objects are indeed present but link to nothing... They appear only as simple images and no longer link to the included PDF/Excel in the Word version...

Is it possible to retain these functional inserted objects like in Word after conversion? How can I do that?
(For your information, I am using Microsoft Word 2007!)

Thank you very much for your help,

Have a great day!

Hello,

your question reminds me of another recent thread here:
https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-31606206-convertir-en-pdf-un-fichier-word-contenant-un-autre-fichier

There haven't been any other contributors, and my own response hasn't changed. Of course, there is still the option to redo the links on each icon with Acrobat.

Hello C-Claire,

Thank you for your quick response on the subject!

The problem does seem to be the same indeed.
That said, I cannot include a hyperlink (the recipients cannot access the drives where the files are located).

As for "redoing the links with Acrobat," does that require Adobe Creator?
I infer that it is impossible to keep a file contained within a Word document after converting it to PDF...

Thanks again!
