Hello everyone,

I have a problem since this morning with Word 2007: the keys c, v, and h are not working anymore. They work in other software and on my web browser. Earlier, when it started, tons of windows (of my files) were opening when I typed text on my keyboard. Now it has settled down, but those keys still don't work. I searched the Internet and forums but found nothing. I checked the task manager to see if anything was abnormal. I'm far from being a specialist, but I didn't see anything unusual there either. I'm thinking about a virus, but what can I do?

Hello,

here's what I would do:
1. Turn off my computer and turn it back on a few minutes later.
2. Run Word in safe mode: hold down the CTRL key and launch Word. If it works, then there's a not very compatible add-in that has been installed or is causing issues.
3. In any case, run Malwarebytes to check the status of the PC; it won't hurt, along with an antivirus. First, see what the results are.

Thank you!
I restarted my computer, then Word in safe mode, and then in normal mode, it seems to be working now. I also did the updates; there were some related to the Office suite, so it might be because of that. I have Avast on my PC, and it told me everything was fine in terms of viruses.
I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen again!

Thank you, C-Claire, for responding so quickly.
