Hello,

So here it is, I would like to play a real-time strategy (RTS) game with a friend (so with a multiplayer mode).

We would like a game other than the classic ones like Age of Empires, Starcraft, and Warcraft which are getting old, and also not Starcraft 2 which we don't really like...

We are open to any suggestions :)

Thank you in advance

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 35.0

He has some good strategy/management games in co-op:

Civilizations, Rise of Nations (a bit old school), Command and Conquer, RUSE (deserted in terms of multiplayer but it’s pure strategy and it's excellent).
World in Conflict which is really, really cool.

Battle for Wesnoth, a Linux game in 2D, graphics are mediocre but has impressive possibilities and a rich community.

You can also count on Homeworld, Empire Earth, Planetary Annihilation, or Sin of Solar for space games.

All the Total War games have a co-op mode.

I might make you puke, but I don't know any strategy games other than League of Legends, COD, Battlefield, and TitanFall. Other than that, I don't know anything about strategy... even though there's more fighting than strategy, but whatever...

I know, but I can't differentiate between them, so I thought fps and str were synonyms, so... besides, they're all multiplayer, and there's combat in both cases. If I'm wrong, I'll only be too sure to be corrected...

Seen from this angle, they resemble each other. The main difference is having an objective view on the STRs. We follow the battles, we command them, but we only participate through our population or our team. In an FPS, we pull the trigger ^^

We'll see his response but I don't think it's what he's looking for...

Lol what a debate, tell me ^^ no indeed for FPS I have what I need, it’s pure military strategy RTS, but besides those already mentioned :/

The choice is limited in this type of game, I'm afraid...

For games like Age of Mythology or Empire Earth, it's clear...
You have rankings on YouTube for RTS, and I don't see anything better...

world in conflict, I had forgotten about that one, thanks my friend!

I found at the back of my closet: the battle for middle-earth which wasn't too bad in my memory :)

The total wars, I'm not really a fan of that style of game.
