Hello, hello!!
I have an old Toshiba TV and a PS3 that was connected to an HD TV before... The problem is that I don't have the (yellow, white, and red) cables with my PS3, I only have the HD cable BUT I have an HD input in the TV!!
I connected the cable to the TV etc., tried pressing the PS and power buttons for a long time but it doesn't work :((((
We are super desperate here!!
Configuration: Mac OS X (10.9.5) / Chrome 39.0.2171.95

Good evening,
Have you previously played on an HD TV? Your PS3 is therefore set up in HDMI.
Unplug the console, then plug it back in, and press the power button until you hear two beeps. (15-20 seconds)
You will switch from HDMI to SCART.
When you want to play again on an HD television, you will reconnect the HDMI cable, so you will need to repeat the process to switch from SCART to HDMI.
