Hello, I want to connect my PC via Ethernet cable but I'm very far from the router. I believe there are devices for that! Can anyone enlighten me?! Best regards, cisscou.
You plug a powerline adapter into a wall electrical outlet (like a regular electrical device); this adapter also has a network port, which will receive the signal from your router. The network signal will be converted and will propagate through the domestic electrical circuit. On this adapter, there is also of course an electrical socket that allows you to plug in your extension cord to which all your devices (router, TV, or whatever) are connected.
This signal will be retrieved by another identical adapter that you will have plugged into another electrical outlet in your home. It picks up the network signal and can send it to a device via a network cable, and again, there is the electrical socket to plug in your devices (PC, etc.).
I hope this seems clear to you; if not, feel free to visit the internet.
The device may seem expensive, and some will choose the Wi-Fi solution. But one might not want Wi-Fi.
