Hello,

Sorry if I'm not in the right forum, but I wasn't quite sure where to post this.

This morning, to my great astonishment, I had no internet and while walking my dog, I realized that my phone line cable was cut in two (my dog chewed it all up). I would like to reconnect it myself, but I don’t know how to do it or what I need. I took a photo so you can see better.

Thank you for your help

Hello

The dog was hungry..
The best thing is to use scotchlocks.
connect the wires of the same color.

put everything in a waterproof box,
Protect everything to prevent the dog from doing it again.

Hi Phil,
There was a cover, but it's on the ground; just reattach it to avoid canine incidents.
The Scotchlocks are waterproof by design, no special housing is needed, just mechanical protection, but if the cover seen in the photo is fixed, no more is necessary.
The problem is that a large length of cable is damaged, we need to remove all the damaged sheath to check the insulation of the wires.
It might be that afterward the two pieces are too short if there's no slack in the cable.
Then we'll need to add a piece of cable to connect the two.
See the use of Scotchlocks:

Hi, brupala

I talked about the box, mainly as mechanical protection.
And indeed, we have to hope there is some slack in the cable.
