COM1 Port Issue

Hello,

Without warning, my COM1 port no longer recognizes my modem.

I’ll explain what I’ve tried:
- updating my modem driver: doesn’t work
- uninstalling the modem: doesn’t work
- uninstalling the COM1 port: doesn’t work

So, after all that, my port still doesn't work. When I try to connect to the internet (dial-up, 56K modem), an error message appears before the impossible dialing, telling me that the port is already in use by another device. I never plug anything into that port.

In the device manager, everything seems to be working fine, the port is enabled, and Windows reports that it’s functioning.

PS: my modem works perfectly, I’ve tested it on another PC.

How can I resolve this issue, if you know?
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 1.5.0.12

Hello,

I have already checked all of this, nothing seems unusual.

Solution found: reinstalling Windows (radical but effective)

I want to update my Condor4500 device, but when I connect the DB9 cable to COM1, I get a message saying (error connection).

@@ HuG ! @@

Press Windows + Pause, go to Hardware/Device Manager and check if you have the COM port under PORTS (COM and LPT). Click + and see if you have COM 1!
