A3 or larger prints

Hello,

I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina with Mac OS 10.9.5.
I have installed an HP A4 printer.
I would like to print PDF files in A3 format or larger from AutoCAD (or any other software such as PHOTOSHOP, ILLUSTRATOR, WORD, PARECU).
However, in the print window - paper size, I cannot choose a format larger than A4. (I can choose several other formats smaller than A4, but A3, A2, and custom sizes are grayed out and I cannot select them.)
I think my printer is restricting the print format to the maximum size that it can print.

Thank you for your help.

    Hi,

I didn't quite understand your question....

If your printer can't print formats larger than A4, it's normal for A3 and larger to be grayed out in your software since your HP is selected by default....

It is physically impossible to print A3 on A4 printers.
Or you can print 2 A4 sheets and then attach them together, that will give you an A3.

    No, I don't want to print A4.
It's just that I can't select a format larger than A4 when I want to create a PDF.
I would like to create larger formats than A4 (for example A3 to A0) in PDF, but I can't choose my A3, A2, or even manage custom sizes.

      But you can't!!!!

You can see that your paper holder is exactly 21 cm wide, which is the width of an A4. You can't insert a paper that is 30 cm wide (A3) into a bin that is 21 cm!! I mean, I don't know, it's logical after all.
You can insert smaller sizes like A6 (10x15cm) etc... and that's it.

      I understand that well hehe
let's say I have an A5 format image. I open it in Preview. I want to create a PDF, but I want to set the PDF layout to A3 format. Well, I can’t. Because I can’t select a size larger than A4...

Ah, I see, I understand now... finally!!
Actually, instead of printing it physically, you want to save it as an A3 PDF. Is that right? With PDF Creator, for example?

Exactly. I want to redo a layout in A3 format (or larger) and save it as a PDF. (Sorry if I wasn't clear ;))
But PDF Creator doesn't exist on Mac, and I don't know how to unlock custom formats...
