Sims 4 - Sim stuck in work mode while at home!

Hello,
As the title clearly states: My sim remains in "work" mode even when he is back home (I have two sims):
- grayed-out character icon as if he was at work.
- unable to open the menus associated with my sim at the bottom right (work, skills, states, etc.), but he can still interact with his environment.
I have already tried to have him come home from work earlier than scheduled: the blue thumbnail indicating that my sim has left work appears, with the daily payment credited to the household wallet, but everything remains grayed out....
I also tried doing a resetSim but a message appears saying: "sim not found"
Could someone please help me?

several solutions to try
You can:
- right-click on the icon of the two characters on the Sim's portrait and have him come in earlier but visible, this doesn't prevent the bug from occurring again the next day
- if you have two Sims, send the non-bugged Sim to a community lot and when he is there, click on the lightning bolt icon and choose "Take care of yourself". This should unlock the Sim.
- switch to plan mode (M key) I moved the Sims to another lot and brought them back. That resolved the issue.
- put him in another house to unlock him
