Hello,
Is it possible to sort the entries of a column in a journal in EBP?
For example, in the bank journal, the entries TRANSFERS, CHECKS, DIRECT DEBITS, and CARD PAYMENTS are all mixed together...?
If so, how do you do it?
Thank you for your reply ;-)
Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 32.0

Hello, accounting software does not work like an Excel spreadsheet. As entries are made, they are sorted by accounting document, meaning in the order of entry. You can, during or at the end of the fiscal year, sort them by date (indeed, when browsing a journal and looking for a date, it can be tedious to have to view the entire journal. When sorted by date, it’s better). To sort by date, make sure to back up first, then go to "Tools", "User Maintenance", "Reindex by Date". For the sorting you initially wanted, you can export to Excel, and "play" with the columns as you wish! (for example: "Print", "Journals", "Excel") Hope this helps!

Hello,
Actually, it’s about sorting the bank entries that are imported into a single account and then dispatched. But the entries, if they are sorted by date, are mixed by payment method (cheque, virtual, direct debit, etc...), so I lose a lot of time, and I was thinking that if I could, like certain software, sort the column to group each payment method, it would save me a lot of time. But oh well, I’ll look into an Excel export...
Thanks anyway for your response ;-) -
No problem, but I'm sorry... we indeed cannot proceed this way, as the chronological order of entries is important in accounting. At EBP, the journals automatically sort the entries by accounting document (chronological order), and we have the option, for example at the end of the period, to sort them by date to facilitate reconciliation, but we cannot act on the description column or anything similar... Good luck!
