DELL 2414h Power Saving

Question

Hello,

So I have two Dell 2414h 24" monitors. And since yesterday, I've been having a problem.
Both of my monitors are going into "Entering Power Save Mode."
No, there is no mistake; it is indeed written like that.

But I don't see how this mode got activated. I've unplugged/replugged them, turned them off/on plenty of times, and still nothing. When I unplug them, they recognize that they're no longer connected since they tell me that I have 5 minutes to plug them back in, otherwise they will turn off.

What should I do? I'm going to uninstall and reinstall the drivers just in case. But if you have any solutions, please feel free to let me know anyway.

I don't think the cables are the issue because it's unlikely they would fail at the same time.

What graphics card model do you have?
It may be necessary for you to restart Windows in safe mode (F8 on startup) to completely uninstall the driver.

It is highly likely that the problem is localized to the graphics card: either a software issue (drivers or the energy-saving feature of Windows) or a hardware issue (overheating).

Have you, to confirm, tested both screens on another PC?

I would advise you to update the graphics card drivers as well as the firmware if available.
If the problem persists, you should look at the advanced power management profile (for PCI cards) https://www.greenit.fr/2010/09/03/windows-seven-parametres-de-gestion-d-energie-en-detail/
Finally, check that there is no dust on the graphics card's heatsink that could interfere with its proper functioning.

My PC is brand new and the screens were working perfectly just before.
Is it possible that it's related to the capabilities?
And I can't uninstall the drivers. I can't find them on the computer. Yet when I try to install them, it tells me they are already installed!!!

My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 770.  I haven't tried safe mode yet. I'll give it a try right away.

My screens turned back on by themselves and I can't enter safe mode (my computer starts up too quickly) and I'm on W8.  But occasionally they briefly turn off.

The problem has returned. And when I press F2 (key on my motherboard), it sends me to the BIOS and I don't know which options to modify!

Hello,

The F2 key does indeed allow you to enter the BIOS. There are no modifications needed at this level.
I had suggested using the F8 key at startup.

In Windows 8, the safe mode is not accessible through this key sequence.
I invite you to follow this tutorial to enable it:

Once in safe mode, uninstall the Nvidia driver and then reinstall it. Finally, restart the PC.

I did it but the problem is still there! So I searched for the Dell drivers but I couldn't find them! How do I uninstall them?!

Hello,

The easiest way is to find the driver installation in the list of installed Windows programs (press Windows+R and type the command APPWIZ.CPL) then uninstall the program corresponding to your graphics card manufacturer (Nvidia, ATI, etc.) and restart Windows after uninstallation.

You can also remove the graphics card driver by launching the Device Manager (command DEVMGMT.MSC) then after selecting the graphics card from the list, click the delete button.

Now I would like to have the location of the drivers for Dell monitors, their drivers, not those for my graphics card because I can find those easily.

So where are these drivers?

I followed your advice just in case. I managed to reinstall my GPU after several hours of hassle. I reconnected everything, but the screens still won't turn on.  All that for a DELL driver.
