Hello,

I would like to know how to modify an EPS file in Photoshop? When I open the EPS file, it is a final image without layers for editing :( What should I do?

Thank you

    hello

an eps file is not editable
the .eps format is used to preserve the qualities of an image, particularly vector quality (like .png for example)
to modify a file, it must have been saved in a format that retains layers: .psd, etc

      Hi Nehel
As Nehel said, an EPS file is not editable if it originates from Photoshop...

But if it was created by Illustrator or another vector software, it will be editable in that same software.. (with some restrictions depending on the cases)

      Hey ;)
And when you open it in Illustrator then ... bam, straight to Photoshop?
Generally, if the 'eps' is well designed, it works, right???

      Hey dude

I tried to open an EPS in Illustrator, save it as an AI, and open it in Photoshop... nothing, it doesn't work
in Illi I have the layers but in Photoshop just the image
      unless I missed something

EPS is a file format that, like PDF, simply encapsulates what it is asked to encapsulate...

It can be an image, graphic shapes, text, or everything at the same time. Unlike PDF, it cannot embed fonts, sound, video, etc., and does not handle transparencies...

If there is an image in the EPS, you can open it in whatever you want; it will remain an image. If there are graphic shapes in the EPS, it will open in a drawing software (Illustrator, Corel Draw, Inkscape, etc.)

But if you try to open an EPS containing graphic (vector) shapes in an image editing software, you will experience pixelization (transformation into an image).
