Computer sounds transmitted through the microphone

Question

Hello, as I mentioned in the title, the sounds from my PC (video, games, music...) are being sent to my interlocutor (with original quality) in any communication software.

My headset is the Asus Rog Cerberus. I plugged it into a Windows 8 computer and there is no such problem there.

Okay, that means Windows recognizes your headset.
Plug in your headset and go back to the playback devices window. Right-click on it and select properties. In the controller information, click on properties again. In the new window, click on Change settings.
In the new window, activate the driver tab and click on update driver.

In the taskbar, look for the sound icon, on the right in the notification area. Right-click and select the "Playback device" option, then select your PC speakers or your headphones.

Do you have a laptop? If so, try connecting to a communication software without headphones or a microphone.

Yes, I am on a laptop, and this problem only occurs with this headset.

Return to the playback devices. Can you post a screenshot of the "Playback" and "Recording" tabs?

Strange, your headset is recognized as a speaker! Is there a TV connected at the top of the playlist?  Right-click on the "speaker" icon and select "test." Do you hear the sound?

I just tested it, I can only hear part of the sound, and yes, it's clearly a TV that is labeled: Digital audio (HDMI).

Otherwise, if you unplug your headphones, are your laptop speakers still recognized as speakers?

"At that point it's fine" I didn't quite understand... Otherwise, open any folder and type  Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers Then click on add a device. Plug in your headset and select it from the list.

I've already done that and the drivers are up to date. Also, there is no driver for my headset.

Weird that there are no drivers. I have one for my simple headphones.
Otherwise, in the playback devices window, right-click on your headset and select "Set as Default Communication Device."
Otherwise, does the same problem occur on another PC or does it work fine?

Is it already set as the default peripheral? And it works perfectly on a Windows 8 computer; I haven't tested it on Vista though.

I assume you have Windows 7 on the problematic PC. Try comparing all the settings available in the right-click menu of the sound icon. If it works on 8, then logically it should work on 7 by applying the same settings...

Hello, sorry for not replying sooner, I had quite a few things to do. I checked on the Windows 8 computer but the only thing that changes is the sound card. The settings are the same.

Sorry for this slight (big) delay, I was on vacation.... Unfortunately, I won't really be able to help you anymore because I'm not very knowledgeable about sound. However, if they are both on the same connector, it means your headset serves as both a microphone and audio. What kind of connector do you have on your headset? USB or jack?

It's a jack connection. I've contacted Asus support, who is trying to help me. If you can no longer assist me, it's not a big deal.  Thank you for your help :)
