Hello/Good evening everyone
First of all I want to clarify that I know this topic has already been covered by many forums, but I haven't found the solution in any of them.

So here's the problem: I have a 223GB E: partition, but when looking at the files one by one I should have about 40GB of data, whereas partition determines. WinDirStat shows an unknown file taking up 168 GB of disk space.

I’ve already deleted restore points, nothing changes
I’ve displayed system and hidden folders, nothing that takes up space

Does anyone know how to delete it or at least know what it is?

(NB: all hidden and system files on the partition are empty, so I don’t think the problem comes from there)

And thanks to those who take the time to help =)

    Hello,

I think these are automatically created backups under Windows 7, if you are indeed using Windows 7.

They should be found under a name like: "computer name - your name"

    Best regards.

To disable or modify this backup:

Control Panel -> System and Security -> Backup and Restore

    Left column: Disable scheduling.

No responses after 5-6 PM, thank you for your understanding :)

As I said, I disabled backups, and deleted the old ones.
Currently, the folder that normally contains the backups is empty.

You deleted and disabled the restore points, not the automatic backup.

reactivate System Restore, it can always be useful :)

    Hello.

"Does anyone know how to delete it or at least know what it is?"
    ? ? ?
Difficile de vous conseiller sans avoir, à minimum, le nom du fichier.

Precisely, the file has no name; under WinDirStat it is recognized only if I display the unknown space, and it takes the form of a huge yellow square
And it doesn't even appear in Windows Explorer (when I look at E:)
