How to know which Freebox model you have? Solved

Question

Hello everyone, I would like to set up a wireless network on my new laptop from a Freebox that I've had for a while (maybe two years), and since it's not HD, I need a PCMCIA card or something, and it has to be compatible but not with version 3, and I don't know which one I have. Could someone tell me?

- Black Freebox
- 2 USB ports (of different shapes)
- 2 Ethernet cables
- A SCART socket
- The power socket
- 2 other ports (?) one of which is yellow
- A plastic thing (?)

Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0

I received my Freebox yesterday, and I can't set up my Wi-Fi connection, the following error message appears: "incompatible Freebox model."

Hello,  on the Free website in the management console, optional features of the Freebox, I have the version: Freebox Model: Freebox ADSL (v5)  check if you don't have the same thing  best regards

Yes, Freeboxes do have Wi-Fi (I don't see how PLC could replace Wi-Fi... PLC can replace long RJ45 cables, but in no way can it replace the advantage of Wi-Fi, which allows you to move around while being connected).

It seems to me that Free needs to link the MAC address of the Freebox to your subscription.
As stated in the management interface:
"The MAC address of your Freebox is not yet available. If you have just subscribed or made a change to your Freebox, you need to wait a few days for the change to take effect."

So it seems to me that the solution when facing an "incompatible Freebox model" problem after activating the router or Wi-Fi is to wait a few days...
