Loss of Images Freebox HD Solved

Question

For some time now, I've been experiencing a TV problem on the Freebox HD. This mainly happens in the evening.
The television gradually starts to distort (image freezes, lines across the screen, then loss of colors, black and white images including the FREE info banner, and finally, nothing at all except for a kind of monochrome green screen like on my CPC 6128...), and I have to reboot it to fix the problem, since it completely freezes (the buttons on the front no longer work either).
This solution doesn't always work, which means that sometimes I have to reboot it three times in a row. I've tried simply turning it off when the problem starts to appear, but that's not enough. I've also tried restarting it remotely via the Configuration menu; this solution doesn't always work either.
I use a video transmitter to enjoy the Freebox in the bedroom, and the problems mainly occur in the bedroom (even if once they are visible in the bedroom, they also exist in the living room).
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on my situation!

For those who might have had the same problem; Black screen (sound present). After doing a few reboots that didn't help, I tested, via the "free" button, the presence of the image with recorded videos: no problem. Returning to TV, miracle...the image was back again! Incomprehensible but worth testing...

No one knows??? I contacted Free's hotline, still as incompetent since the guy just read from his screen and made me redo the installation procedure. And since then, the same problems...

Hello,  THE SAME PROBLEM HERE. UNABLE TO REACH FREE (SURPRISING). In fact, the WIFI connection also disappears on my laptop. Hard reboot done... no changes. PLEASE HELP

Apologies for the late response... but here we go.
I had the same issue and it turns out it was due to the heating of the HD case.
I simply added small spacers to raise the case (3cm) and placed it in a more ventilated area.
Immediate and permanent results, so I naturally believe that was the problem.

Hello, I have exactly the same problem.
I have Free since 11/16/2007. I think I have the FREEBOX v2 because it has a 12v power supply instead of the previous 9v.
Everything was fine for 15 days and since 12/02/2007, the image goes from blue to pink then to a black screen and finally the HD box crashes. I rebooted it and for the past 5 days I've left it on P000 waiting for a response from FREE.
First email from FREE ==> do hard reboots of both boxes (I did it 50 times, it didn't change anything)
Second email from FREE ==> the technician did some manipulations and asks me if the box is powered off electrically???
Yesterday, third email from FREE telling me that it’s the power supply that's causing the problem. They ask me to check with a friend who might have a FREEBOX to try using their 9v power supply (I told them my FREEBOX uses 12v!!!)
I'm writing to them tonight and I'll keep you posted for those who are interested.

My issue ended when I moved my setup, and the Freebox HD is now farther away from my television. Cause and effect? Probably, in any case, that problem is (was) over for me. I have since moved and have been waiting for a line activation from Free for 2 and a half months... Never go with Free!!! ;-)

Hello everyone. I have a problem quite similar to yours with HD. The image degrades after about 5 minutes of use and the HD freezes. What's strange is that when the picture starts to get fuzzy, all I have to do is go into the settings menu for the image to stabilize again. However, as soon as I go back to the TV, it happens again. Yet the HD is directly connected via an Ethernet cable to the Free. I don't understand. Thank you in advance.

my problem:
I recently discovered how to use the FTP address to transfer my movies to the hard drive of the Freebox.
It was going relatively well until I reached saturation... that's when the problems started...
I wanted to watch some movies and suddenly there was no more picture. I went back to the TV channels and encountered the same problem: I had the banners at the top and bottom but no picture. Similarly, I couldn't return to the main page (pressing the "Freebox" button)
I rebooted my Freebox HD: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I also reset my hard drive with no results...

1 solution peut être : depuis que j'ai branché la prise de la box TV seule sur une prise ou rallonge, l'image ne se fige plus, c'est l'électricité qui est pourrie (transmission par courant)

Good evening,
We confirm Louyub's statements. My partner has indeed correctly reconnected the Freebox HD plug, and since then, the picture seems to be less choppy. Correction, it is no longer choppy at all :)
A rough explanation for those familiar with Joseph Fourier's theories. Indeed, a poorly connected or faulty plug generates harmonics. Given that the mains frequency is 50 Hz, these harmonics can enter the WiFi spectrum (around 2400 MHz).

Having been with Free since early 2007, I started experiencing problems with my HD box in July 2008 (problems described above: picture degrading after x minutes, ineffective remote control...). I tried several manipulations (rebooting, elevating the box...) and even bought a notebook cooler... but nothing was actually working.

Three weeks ago, the power supply for the HD box failed: I therefore ordered a new power supply through the Free interface.

=> The new power supply received is different in shape, but it also has different voltage and output current compared to the previous power supply. Since this new power supply has been connected, everything works perfectly again as if by miracle...

I had the same problem, I tested this solution, and miracle, the image came back. So it's a solution that works ;)!

but your Freebox TV is vertical it's a heating problem to this day on the forum no one has found a solution for me it's vertical and I have a big standing fan cooling its butt :)
