Email delivery to the usa

I need to send an email to the United States, and every time I do, I receive an email saying "failure"; apparently, it doesn't work.
What should I do? Is the problem with the address? Or is my email account not configured to send emails abroad (MSN Hotmail)?

    Just make sure the address is correct, no typos
    Unless the inbox is full??
