I am receiving LinkedIn invitations (from people I know) even though I do not have an account on this site.

Is that normal?
What can I do to fix this?

    LinkedIn offers users with an account the option to retrieve their email address book to send invitations to their contacts.

    You can try checking LinkedIn's email database to see if it is possible to remove your email address from their website.
