I just bought a Mio P550 and can't connect to the PC to sync. An error message appears saying "unknown USB device" no matter which USB port I use. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the installation disc for the MIO but nothing works. If you have a solution or not, please send me an email.
Thank you in advance.

I had the same issue and by using Office 2003 (Outlook) instead of Office 97, it worked.
Hello,
The mio P550 is Wi-Fi, can we connect to the internet at home? I have a Livebox that is already working via Wi-Fi with my PC; can I connect to the internet through the Livebox, and if so, how? Knowing that I activated the Wi-Fi on my mio and it detects it but I cannot connect.
Thank you in advance.

Tu dois insérer ton CD d'installation pour que l'ordinateur puisse avoir les nouveaux fichiers pour le nouveau périphérique.
Thank you for the response you gave me, but in fact there must have been a more important issue because the seller (DARTY) exchanged it for a new one.
-- Hi, which specific software are you looking to install?? As for the GPS, it's better to buy a full version like TomTom 6, that's the most recommended for this pocket PC (I installed it on mine and it works very well, it even has integrated weather). For other small programs, you can find some online by typing
However, for the voice recorder, you need to open a new note: Start/Programs/Notes
There you open New, then Menu and make sure "Show recording toolbar" is checked, and that's it
To return to various free programs for the pocket, you can find a few here:

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck

Hello,
I just encountered the same problem. My P550 detects the Wi-Fi from my Livebox but I can't connect using Internet Explorer, even though it shows wanadoo81db as available. Whenever I try to connect, I get the following error message: connection impossible with the current settings. To modify your connection settings, press settings.
I've already tried various methods but without success! Help!

Hello.
I just got the Mio P 550 and I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. It doesn't always recognize my Livebox, and then it asks me for a lot of information regarding the type of connection (apart from my web key which I was able to retrieve from my Livebox, I don’t know what to choose among the options provided). Can you please help me?
P.S.: My computer is connected to the Livebox via an Ethernet cable.

Hello,
I struggled a lot to connect my PDA to the Neuf Box 4 via wifi. I now have a solution that works, and I'm sharing it with you. It might save you some time.
To note: my PDA previously connected using WPA-PSK encryption and TKIP via a Linksys router. Since I switched to the Neuf Box 4, the PDA connection stopped working. In summary, I had to change the encryption mode and understand that only the first 13 characters of the network key should be used.
Wifi configuration of the NB4:
- Encryption:
Encryption: WEP
Key type: ASCII
Default key: 1
Key 1: the first 13 characters of the WPA-PSK key printed on the back of the Neuf Box 4
PDA Configuration
- Wireless network configuration
- General tab
Network name: the SSID name of your Neuf Box 4
Connects to: Internet
- Network Key tab
Authentication: Shared
Encryption: WEP
Uncheck the "Automatically provide key" box
Network Key: the first 13 characters of the WPA-PSK key printed on the back of the Neuf Box 4
Key index: 1
- 802.1x tab
Check the "Select network access control" box if not already done
EAP Type: PEAP
Click OK. Disable and then re-enable the wifi mode on your PDA. Normally, you should now be connected. In the wifi settings of the PDA, "Connected" replaces the "available" indication next to your network name.

Hi leelouuu, for your disappearing wifi issue, can you specify if Bluetooth is turned on or not? Because if it is on, disable it and the wifi in the wireless manager will reappear.

Hello, I have a Mio P550
I'm trying to change the language and it seems like it's an image that needs to be used with a development program, but I'm not sure I understood everything
does anyone have a French patch or something to do... I have all the standard CDs but it's in Dutch...
thank you

Uh, upon rereading, I specify that I am trying to go through the following patch
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=52FED581-8F8D-4C46-9966-4832098191B7&displaylang=en
and that I also tried going through the menu by changing the regional settings.
There you go.
