Hello, I have a PS3 (it's the first generation of PS3 before the slim and all that) I was watching a series on my hard drive then the light (red or green) starts flashing yellow and the PS3 turns off, I turn it back on and a few seconds later it does the same thing again. How can I fix it please help me

It's definitely a Ylod. The problem is becoming common.
And, you have a Fat. I repair them myself, for those who absolutely want to recover their saves, or who can't afford to buy one right away. The repair is indeed random and always temporary.. From 3-4 hours to 5 months, sometimes more.. Sometimes the second repair (because I fix them until they break down completely) lasts longer than the first. I've been doing this for over 3 years now, or rather, I’ve been inside them ( :) ).. They no longer hold any secrets for me..
So you have a Ylod. One of the two processors, or both, are partially unsoldered. This happens with the Fat models because they were assembled when the tin composition was globally modified, and this composition was not yet well controlled. The problem is the same on the xBox 360. It's simply time that has taken its toll. You're not to blame. In January, I had a Fat to repair, first generation, no scratches, barely any dust inside and never opened. There are 2 solutions:
- Repair by an electronics technician who can resolder the processors in a similar way to how the console was made, which is complete reballing. But the price is close to that of the console.
- Or a technician near you who repairs these consoles, like me. Inquire at a video game store. This repair depends on the technician's experience, I think. My personal touch, I sometimes mod the console chassis by adding 1 or more fans, well-placed, a little LED or some bling-bling along the way.. I'm from Loiret, just in case...

The problem is generally caused by a high temperature inside the console, leading to the melting of the processor cell solder on the motherboard.
