Hello. I think my satellite dish (Tooway/Nornet) LNB is faulty. I checked the coaxial cable and found a short circuit between the shield and the inner wire. To be sure, I unplugged the cable and checked again. Result: normal, no current. When I reconnect the coax to the LNB, I still notice the insulation issue. I then directly tested the output of the LNB and found there is current between the LNB and the ground. And that seems abnormal to me. What do you think? It's a bit urgent. I would like an opinion before I complain to Norndet. Thanks.

Hello,
it's normal for a current to flow, the LNBs are powered by direct current.
What is the value of the resistance?
We need to check the value of the supply voltage on the dish when the LNB is connected or not.

and ... There you go!-
Hi. It's okay regarding the current. We're misunderstanding each other. It's normal for a current to circulate in the coaxial between the head and the modem. What is not normal is a current between the coaxial cable and the shield. That indicates an insulation fault. However, I tested the cable, and it's fine. The leak comes from the LNB. To confirm this, I inserted a piece of wire into the head and checked between that wire and the metal ground. Nothing should happen there. However, there is indeed a short circuit. That's the problem.

To make sure of it, I inserted a piece of wire into the head and I sounded between that piece of wire and the metal mass.
Anything... :-(
A piece of advice:
it's better if you don't boast to your supplier about this kind of testing...
If a current flows in the coaxial, it flows between the core and the shield, necessarily.
These are the only two conductors.
