Facebook application Java on Samsung Wave 2

So, on my Wave 2, I've installed Facebook in the "Games and Others" application, which works with Java.
Everything works perfectly, except for the smileys: In instant messaging, I can either click on "reply," in which case I type my message and send it.
But I can also click on the ":)" to send a smiley
However, I can't do both at the same time: when I click on reply, I no longer have access to the smileys.
So basically, when I insert a smiley, it has to stand alone, which is not very practical...
The same problem occurs when putting up a status or commenting on a post (there, I can’t even add a smiley at all, even alone, the icon is missing), and that's quite annoying!
Thank you in advance if you know, for example, a little trick to fix this :)
