SOS Vintage Turntable

Hello,

I just acquired an old turntable from the late 70s, ITT KA 1255. It was working very well at the time of purchase, and to transport it, I had to unscrew the two screws from the platter in the high position to stabilize it. Once I got home, I screwed the platter back on, and the turntable worked normally.

Unfortunately, recently, the rotation mechanism of the platter has been getting stuck, barely turning at all...

Does anyone have any knowledge on the subject to help me learn and acquire skills for maintenance and also to avoid having to call a professional who would definitely charge me a certain price?

Thank you all and happy holidays.

Hello,
You say to remove the tray, but how do I do it?
After removing the black clip, the tray doesn't want to budge.
Do I need to pull it upwards to take it off?
