Problem with Filezilla Connection attempt failed with Solved

Question

Hello,  First of all, THANK YOU for the help you provide to internet users (of all levels).  The short phrase below describes my problem.  Failed to connect with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".  With my personal page from Free, I created my site - http://albert1808.free.fr - Everything was going well, then a BIG mistake on my part means I can no longer connect to FileZilla to perform transfers to my site.  Currently, it is completely empty (since I can no longer transfer). For my site, I am using Guppy.  PLEASE can you tell me what I need to do. (how to configure FileZilla, a friend set it up for me before).  Thank you for your response.

To upload to your site, you need to configure Filezilla on ftpperso.free.fr with your credentials (email) and password; you received this information from Free. The other fields should be left as "default."

Hi, it's the same for me, I no longer have access to the server from Filezilla, here’s what it says: "Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server"  Everything worked fine for at least 2 years and then suddenly, for a week now, I haven’t had access. At first, I thought it might be an issue with Free, but now it's dragging on.  So if anyone has a solution, at least to recover my entire database, that would be great. I think we can go directly to Free on our account, but I don’t know how to do that, to be continued...  P.S.: I saw people talking about the Windows Firewall: mine has been disabled for a long time.  In any case, those who have this problem lately, don’t mess around too much, it’s probably nothing serious ;)

Hello Same problem since yesterday. I have a personal website hosted on Free (I don’t have a Freebox - free access). Unable to connect to the Free server. Same message: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server I also use FileZilla and I can connect just fine to other servers (I have another site hosted elsewhere), so I think it’s a Free issue and not a configuration problem with FileZilla which was working perfectly until now. Firewall disabled or not, the message is the same; Passive or active transfer: same thing Uninstalled and reinstalled FileZilla: same thing. If anyone has an idea, it would be welcome for everyone.  In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas!

Hi anna81000, I don't think we'll be the only ones. I've looked into several things with Free and FileZilla, and the problem comes from them.  Here’s what I did:  - restarted the Freebox server. - tested another site I had on FileZilla that also goes through Free - tried another FTP client.  So don’t worry, nothing worked, and I sincerely think it’s coming from them.  Well, Merry Christmas to those who pass by.  P.S.: However, my sites work well on the internet; it's just that I can no longer connect to Free's FTPeroso via my FTP clients.

Hello,  I have the same issue since yesterday, even with the internal software from Namo, I'm getting the same response: no connection with the server ftpperso.free.fr, so it's coming from them... let's hope it comes back, I have two sites and it's happening on both!!!  Merry Christmas

I will give you the answer to everything...  Because I solved this problem myself   you need to replace in FileZilla the Host field: ftpperso.free.fr with toto.free.fr   obviously toto is the name you gave to your space   and IT WORKS   PS: Flop had given the answer above... and apparently no one read it :-)

Phil, no need to enter a port. Make sure to double-check your password.  Are you still getting the same error message: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server"? --  PS: Out of curiosity, I checked your site... many links are not working, is that normal (I'm on Safari on a Mac with Lion 10.8.5)?

With ftpperso, the error message is different Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server". Error: Unable to establish a connection to the server And with "http://ftpperso.free.fr/" it doesn't work either; the site folders display but when you click on a folder, you return to the page "http://ftpperso.free.fr/".

Hello, I just connected to ftpperso.free.fr directly through the web interface, and it works from an Orange access. However, nothing works on the FileZilla side, it’s still not good.  What’s unfortunate is that the web interface is very limited; sending folders isn’t possible...
