Hello,

I would like to use the nbtstat command, the syntax is (at least the one I found on several sites): nbtstat -a (ipxxx.xxx.x.xx)
However, it doesn't work: the command prompt states "host not found"
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you in advance!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 26.0.1410.64

Actually, I'm just starting out in hacking, I don't really know what a ping is
You don't even have the basics of networking if you don't know what a ping is. Before talking about hacking, you have a long way to go and many things to learn. Don't aim too high...

    Hello,
If you use the IP, it's not -a but -A in uppercase ;-)
The -a in lowercase is indeed for the name and not the address.

Cela ne fonctionne pas... Est-ce un -(tiret) ou un -(moins) qu'il faut mettre ?

    It's a -, I don't see the difference between a hyphen and a minus.
You say it doesn't work. Do you still have host not found?
The host in question is indeed reachable with ping?

In fact, I'm just starting out in hacking, I don't really know what a ping is, I tried to ping my sister but it tried 4 times and failed 4 times!

    Uh, sorry but no.
These are really the basics. I'm not joking.
Google will suffice. If you have real questions, we can always discuss them then.

I can ping, but I always get Host unreachable...
The entered IP address must belong to the same network??

Have you tried doing a ping www.google.com?
      That will answer your question.
As I said If you have real questions, we can always see at that moment.
Seriously, don't ask questions if you haven't done a minimum of searching first.

-__- I know what it results in; the problem is with nbtstat, it always says host not found.

If the ping doesn't go through, it's normal...

I understand that you finally figured out how to ping, but it’s not working.

For a remote machine to respond to a nbtstat, it must have: file and printer sharing enabled, Microsoft network client, and TCP/IP. Otherwise, you will always get "Host unreachable."

And I’ll stop there. Do some research on Google because you have a lot to learn before even thinking about becoming a "hacker" as you say (even that term doesn't correspond to what you think).
