Hello,

It has been a little over a day since I got my MacBook.
I would like to know how to set VLC as the default player.

Quicktime is not great and can't play much compared to the traffic cone.

Thank you for your help.

Have a good day/evening.

    Hello,

Right-click on your video > Open with... > You select VLC and check the box Always open with.

Already tried, but only the videos where I do this manipulation have the VLC logo afterwards.
The other videos in the folder still default to QuickTime.

Otherwise, another problem with an MKV video.
I launch it, and I have sound but no image, just a playlist-type menu.
And after a few minutes, the video appears.

      Hello,

did you check the box Always open with? That's the important one.

You can also do it like this: Right-click on the video -> Get Info -> Add VLC to the 'Open with' list and click on Change All

You need to repeat the process for different formats.

To open all videos that have the same extension (I assume), right-click on the file/ Get Info/ Open with (your choice from the dropdown menu) and click on Apply to All.
