CPL compatible inverter Solved

Question

Hello,  I am looking for a power inverter compatible with powerline adapters. Has anyone found this type of device?  Possibly a setup with a simple surge protector for: the PC, the box, and the TV/home theater couple, in front of the powerline adapters might work. I will add an inverter for the PC after the powerline adapter to filter the current and avoid abrupt shutdowns.  Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm not a specialist, but I use several UPS units at home. Each PC has its own. A UPS, to be really effective, must be plugged directly into the wall socket. Not into a power strip or an extension cord. The ones I've been using for years are APC. They have often saved my skin, believe me. Imagine a power cut during a BIOS update or a system restore... or just 5 steps away from the final boss. :o) The surge protector does only what it knows how to do: protect against surges. A question (if it’s a dumb one, I apologize): can’t you plug the powerline adapter after the UPS?  -- Those who know nothing know just as much as those who don't know any more than them. Hello Froulik,  Thank you for your response. Your question is not stupid; it simply shows that I didn't explain myself well. I have 3 groups of devices in 3 different rooms to protect against surges, and only one needs an uninterruptible power supply. My ideal setup is 3 surge protector sockets: one in my entrance before the box, another in my living room before the TV/home theater unit, and one on the first floor before the PC/printer unit. I plan to install an uninterruptible power supply on the first socket between the surge protector and the PC to protect it from power outages. A sudden cut on the box and home theater will be less critical than on the PC. However, it seems that the surge protectors might reduce the throughput by 4. Have you noticed this claim? What equipment do you have?  Thank you in advance.

Hello Balou_ Surge protectors? According to some ISPs (SFR in particular), they supposedly cause "interference" with the signal. Personally, I don’t use them; I only have uninterruptible power supplies. Each of these has 6 sockets: 3 for power cuts and the other 3 solely for surges (surge protection, that is), and I've never noticed any signal disturbance, even though my box is connected afterward. You wrote, "I plan to install a UPS first between the surge protector and the PC", but if you install the UPS, there's no need for a surge protector (redundancy). You could easily plug your PC and printer into this UPS. Otherwise, your setup seems logical to me.  -- Those who know nothing know just as much as those who don’t know any more than they do. Hello Froulik,  It is indeed SFR that recommends placing the CPL socket at the start of the line before the surge protector, but on the other hand, they recommend putting a surge protector to protect their box. So it's a bit of a dilemma. I had also put a surge protector at the start, as it filters less current than an uninterruptible power supply. I spoke with Eaton in the meantime, and they claim that 2 surge protectors for my ground floor is viable; for the first floor, they suggested a CPL-compatible uninterruptible power supply from them.  This solution suits me better, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.  Have a good evening.
