Drivers for built-in webcam (MSI laptop)

Hello,

I just bought an MSI GX70 3BE, and I rolled it back to Windows 7.. (Because I personally don't like 8)

So, I reinstalled all my drivers (audio, graphics card, lan, wifi, bluetooth, touchpad..)
And there's one last one I'm having trouble finding: the one for the built-in webcam..

If someone could tell me where to find this driver, that would be great :)

Visiting the MSI website for this product is a penance...
... at least for this specific product.
I read that a user "forced" W7 to install the built-in webcam driver by simply pressing Fn + F6

I neither have this hardware nor W7...
I suggest mikis69 consult his documentation about this.

What do you think?

Hi CCMclaude,

Indeed, it's not a bad idea, however it seems that a webcam driver is available for Windows 7!

The references HD type (30fps@720p) come from the PC specifications page, probably not to be taken into account for "finding" the expected driver. It's also true that the site doesn't help much with "navigation"!

An essential question now, is this webcam present in the device manager, image acquisition device, only mikis69 is able to answer the question, maybe we’ll know a bit more afterwards.

Honestly, I don't know what manipulating the Fn+F6 keys can do, I can't test it myself.

First of all, I want to thank both of you :)

Then, CCMclaude, thank you, this manipulation allowed my webcam driver to install automatically, I hadn’t even thought of it while I was just looking at what each combination (fn + something) could do.

Otherwise, I admit that the MSI website is not very user-friendly for drivers, but the fact is, you just have to go to the PC you bought, and you have a menu with the specifications and a bit further to the right are the various things to download..

So it helped me reinstall all the drivers I needed! :)

No problem, we are very happy for you, special mention to CCMclaude.
Personally, I know Fn+V to activate (deactivate) the webcam, but to reinstall it..... at least I would have learned something! (I will test it on my machine if necessary)

Please, if possible, another tip because the manipulation (Fn+F6) does not work for me under Win8.1 Pro
! The MSI site provides all the drivers except for the built-in webcam :S :S
