Long installation on "installation complete"

Hello,
I am new to the community and I have a small issue while installing a Windows 7 ISO downloaded from Microsoft. My hardware is compatible (tested with Microsoft's software).
Let me explain, the installation goes very well (I am installing via USB) until the first boot where I have to turn it off manually (is that normal?). After restarting, the rest of the installation continues on "finalizing installation". The computer does not freeze as I can move the mouse without any problem, but it is super slow. I left it on all night and all day and it stayed on the same page.

Can someone help me or explain the potential issues?

Best regards.

Download the ISO here on the Windows 7 forum.
But you need to know what processor you have on this PC, whether it's 32 or 64 bits to get the right ISO.

the Vista that I have runs on a 32-bit.
Normally my PC should be a 32-bit.

You can run a 32-bit system on a 64-bit processor, but not a 64-bit system on a 32-bit processor.

So far, I've only had 32-bit systems.

Hello
The problem is that you are turning off the PC manually!
You cannot interrupt a Windows installation.
You need to wait and let Windows even restart the PC, even if it takes a bit long.

I see that there is no one to help me.
Thanks anyway.

The problem is that it freezes at that moment. I can't do anything, not even move the mouse.

You have a problem with this ISO (Official or not?) or the USB stick that needs to be bootable.

The key is bootable, the ISO was downloaded from an official site. I still need to try it on a CD to see if the problem really comes from the ISO or from the USB key.

Re
I come with news: after attempting with bootable keys and on CD, I'm at the same level.
I think it should be possible, but I'm still asking the question:
Is it possible to install Windows 7 on an Amilo LA1703???
Knowing that I have the minimum recommended configuration? (even a little above)

You probably only have 1 GB of RAM on this PC.
If the system on the ISO is 64-bit, the installation will not proceed.
For Win 7 32-bit, 1 GB of RAM is sufficient; for 64-bit, you need a minimum of 2 GB.

that's probably why it won't install.
I have 1.5GB of RAM and I didn't pay attention to the ISO I downloaded.
I need to check if it's 32 or 64 bit.
Logically it should install since Windows 8.1 Pro works on the PC.

You might be able to install it! But to use it, with only 1.5 GB of RAM, the PC may lag, freeze, get stuck, and not progress.

yet the 8.1 preview that I installed works very well. I even find that my PC is smoother.

It's true that Win 8.1 is faster and smoother than Win 7
But why would you want to install it then?
But your Preview, which is just a beta, will end on January 1st.

I know it will end soon, and if I want to install W7, it’s because, unlike 8.1, I have an activation key.

The PC configuration and the RAM are the cause of this installation problem.
Do you have a Win 7 64 bits or 32 bits?
Because if you have a 64 bits and your PC's processor is 32 bits, you cannot install a 64 bits system.

To be frank, I don't remember which version I downloaded (at least I don't recall anymore).
I haven't had the time to check which version I have.
Just for your information, I tested the installation using 2 methods (CD and USB).
With USB, I did the installation as described above.
With CD, I get stuck right at the beginning, when the files are being decompressed (1st attempt stuck at 5% and 2nd attempt stuck at 0%).
Is there always a link with the system?

The downloaded ISO may be defective.
Where did you download it from?

On the official site (at least I think, it's been a little while)
Is this site reliable? (hxxp://www.winmacsofts.com/telecharger-limage-iso-de-windows-7-depuis-le-site-de-microsoft/)

CCM moderation edit: the winmacsofts link has been disabled as it now leads to malware.

I'm following up regarding the Windows 7 download (from the link you provided).
Installation stuck at 1% and then nothing.

How do you install using an ISO burned on a CD or on a USB stick?

With the CD, it's a normal installation. That is to say, I put the installation CD in, boot from it, then I follow the instructions it gives, and it gets stuck at "extracting files."
For the USB key, it's the same, except that everything goes well until the moment the PC needs to restart. At that point, I have to turn it off manually and turn it back on. And then it gets stuck on "installation complete" (it stayed on the same page all night + the whole day).

In the BIOS, you need to set the SATA Mode to AHCI, then boot from the CD drive.

there is no such option in the bios.

This PC is old and has low-end specifications.
The max RAM is 2 GB, which is too little to install Win 7, especially if it's a 64-bit version.

Try with a 32-bit Win 7 ISO.
