Démagnetize credit card

Hello,
I have an iPhone 5 and I recently got a cardholder case. So I can put my credit card behind the iPhone. But are there any risks of demagnetizing it or is that just an exaggeration?

    I don't think there's any such risk.
    At worst, you will lose money and contactless payment (if you have it on your debit card), but you will still be able to pay and withdraw cash with it.
