Hello,

I built my first PC myself two weeks ago. I've been using it without any problems until now. However, I've noticed some unusual changes over the past few days. At first, I thought it might be an infection issue, but that's not the case, so I'm checking with you to see if it might be related to my BIOS configuration. My problem is as follows:

While trying to watch a replay video, I realized that the video was slightly faster (the presenter’s voice was higher than normal...). To check this, I timed the video for one minute. I found a difference of about 4 seconds over 1 minute! I initially thought there might be an issue with "Flash Player"...

After confirming that my PC was up to date, I tested it with my second PC (laptop), which is also up to date, and I didn’t notice this difference.

Next, I tried playing an audio file with VLC and noticed that the sound was also higher and faster, but additionally, it was "cutting out" every 2 to 3 seconds. The same happened with movies! (Faster and "cutting out" every 2 to 3 seconds).

I then tested with Windows Media Player: playback was faster, but there were no interruptions...

I initially posted in the "virus and security" section, but the PC is "clean". I was directed towards a potential driver issue with my graphics card, which is integrated into my motherboard. However, the drivers are up to date.

While looking into the BIOS, I might have found a potential solution, but I need your advice because I don’t want to mess things up (I’m not a pro, far from it...)

I went into "settings/Advanced/integrated graphics Configuration" and found this:

On the first line, I see: initiate graphic adapter [PEG] (I have the choice between PEG and IGD)

After some research online, PEG = PCI-Express Graphics, and IGD = Internal Graphics Card
However, I’m using the graphics card on the motherboard! Should I switch to IGD?

Secondly, on the last line, it shows: IGD Multi-monitor [Disabled]
However, I have two screens connected to the PC (one via VGA, the other via HDMI)
Should I change anything? (especially if I switch to IGD)

Thanks for helping out :)

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 25.0

If you have two monitors connected to the graphics card of the processor, you can enable multi monitors and yes, I think you can set it to IDG. Otherwise, you can check if your drivers are up to date: www.touslesdrivers.com
