Prolific PL2303 Serial to USB Driver for Windows 7 32-Bit

Question

Hello,    I'm struggling, I have a USB device but it communicates over a Serial port (COM port ...) It usually requires a Prolific PL2303 driver, but no matter which version I take, this ***** driver doesn't install correctly, I don't know what to do anymore.  Where can I find the Prolific PL-2303 driver for Win 7 32bits, preferably an older version?  Thank you.   Configuration: Win7 & Ubuntu 11.10 Inspiron 1720 Laptop - 120Go - Core Duo 2.2GHz - 4 Go of RAM  -- (Desperate Housewives) We're not even playing in the same league, I wonder if we're even playing the same sport.

Hello sorry for the late reply: if you have a code 10, it means the previous driver hasn't been uninstalled correctly.  here's a link to a site at the bottom  http://aprs.facile.free.fr/APRS%20usb%20serial%20rs232%20converter%20problem.php#.U-N9imN7z0Y  then reinstall the correct driver which is also available for download

Yes, that's right. I tested it like others. But it doesn't install correctly, I always get this error code 10 and there's an exclamation mark on the COM ports icon.   -- (Desperate Housewives) We're not even playing in the same league, I wonder if we're even playing the same sport.

Unfortunately, I’ve already tried that too. (An innumerable number of times)  I spent an entire day on it, then gave up for at least 2 months. Now I’m back at it, and I just spent another day for nothing.  What kills me is that I’ve actually managed to get this device to work with a PL2303 driver before, but I can't remember the exact version or the exact procedure; I remember that depending on the method it was very temperamental and in the end, I really struggled!!!  pffff!!  -- (Desperate Housewives) We aren't even playing in the same division, I wonder if we're playing the same sport.

You tried an old driver, I have Inforad which only works with version 3.3.2.105 from 27/10/2008, but every time Windows updates the latest Prolific USB to Serial driver, it doesn't work and I have to revert to the old one for it to function.
