Unable to start Solved

Question

Hello.

My computer freezes when it gets to the loading screen: "Starting Windows...".
The loading is infinite, and when I restart and try safe mode, it gets stuck at loading aswRvrt.sys.
I've tried the Repair Startup option but it doesn't work...

I've tried to restore the system but again, it doesn't work.
I'm starting to think that it's a virus that's causing my problems...

Uninstall Avast!.
Reinstall it when you can start.

Good evening.

I found my Windows 7 CD after a long search through all my stuff.
Since the Malekal Live CD did not allow me to access the computer as expected, the problem remains unresolved and I don't know if reinstalling Windows will make me lose my data.
If you have a solution... please.
I've never had such a hard time solving a problem.

Hello.

I managed to rename aswRvrt.sys to .old
And then, it was aswVmm.sys that I had to rename, then CLASSPNP.sys, then disk.sys with a blue screen at startup in safe mode that disappeared very quickly (I didn't have time to read it) before an automatic restart, then fvevol.sys accompanied by the same blue screen as well.

When I renamed fvevol.sys to .old and came back, safe mode seemed to launch, first the loading and then a message "Windows is loading files..." with a loading, and finally, the Windows startup repair tool.
So safe mode did not launch.

I let it repair and it restarted automatically, I set safe mode again and saw that it got stuck at fvevol.sys, so I went back to see what was happening, and I saw that there was a new file "fvevol.sys" but the "fvevol.old" was still present.

I started over but it's the same result.
Do you have any idea?

Good evening, I have exactly the same issue and I just reached the end of your forum.... except that I don’t have the original DVD (normally it's supposed to be inside) and I no longer have the Samsung recovery (it refuses to launch at the beginning as I had already done some time ago). So here is my question: what did you do to resolve it????

Uh, by great and fortunate chance, my computer finally started up.
I didn't want to admit defeat and I tried everything even though Malekal told me I was headed for a Windows reinstall.

In the end, nothing was working and I left it on the "Starting
Windows" screen for 1 hour and some change as a last hope, then it started up.

At first, it took 1 hour and 6 minutes (to be precise!) to start up each time.

After a few weeks, it started booting quickly (in a few seconds), without any issues.

I am in the same situation, but I managed to connect my hard drive to my other computer in the living room, so I have access to it. My question is this: what should I do? Should I delete the entire Avast folder directly, or is there a gentler way to handle it?
