The print screen key is not working anymore.

same problem.
No F lock key, I have old keyboards, including one very old, and no lock key; above the num pad, I have a key to change the color of the backlighting, the sound keys, pause, scroll lock, and print screen system, and then F12, F11, etc...
I'm on seven 64b, I have the screenshot, but for the extended version, it's not working, and that's why I would like to use the function key print screen system.
But it doesn't work, like a lot of other things.

At home, the Print Screen key doesn't work anymore,
but Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen still works.

Thank you to the one who posted "Fn+Print" screen, it solved my problem =D. Otherwise, the Fastone software already recommended is effective, but the trial period is only 30 days.

Normally, there is a key that says ""fn"" at the bottom, the second one from the left, but I'm on a laptop so I'm not sure about you.

The print screen works with Photoshop on Windows. The problem is that sometimes the clipboard (where the images from the print screen are temporarily stored) gets full. You need to clear it.

To do this, in Photoshop, go to Edit > Purge > Clipboard. Then close and reopen Photoshop, it should work.

Thank you for your response. I checked in Photoshop and that's not where the issue is. It's indeed the key on my keyboard that isn't working anymore. For now, I've solved the problem with ACDSee, which offers a screenshot function independent of the Print Screen key, but it's less flexible.
I was told I should try unplugging the keyboard (it's an Asus laptop) and plugging it back in to reset it, but I haven't found the solution.

Hello,
The "F Lock" key is located above the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard.
In the event that your keyboard does not have this key, try to find its equivalent under a different name or symbol (on a key located above your numeric keypad).
If you are not able to find it, plug in another keyboard that has the "F Lock" key in place of yours just for this operation; check the result and if it solves your problem, switch back to your original keyboard.

I am also encountering the same problem, and it is a bug in Photoshop. It seems that Photoshop poorly manages the alternation between the screen print "PRINT SCREEN" and copy-paste. However, purging the clipboard does not resolve the issue. I find no better solution than restarting Photoshop to be able to copy the screen print.

same problem, and indeed by restarting Photoshop, the print screen key works again... it's just a bug for me after all, but it happens from time to time anyway :/

I haven't used Photoshop in a very long time and my problem has somehow been resolved, and I don't know how. Maybe a Windows update? Who knows! One time the update fixes it, the next time another problem pops up.

Ok thanks, I don't have a laptop but I solved the problem myself: I just unplugged and plugged my keyboard back in. :)

indeed I have a HP Pavilion and my fn + print screen combination doesn’t work (and on Pavilion that’s the only way).

I thought it was due to the installation of a new program (it often bugs after an update or installation), so I restarted, but nothing works; I’m going to shut it down and wait.

My fingerprint reader hasn’t worked for ages.

In short, HP = housewife's laptop.

If that doesn't work anymore! Try it on an on-screen keyboard!

Actually, you need to press the 'F Lock' key to disable the function lock, then take your screenshot, and paste it into Word or Paint or PowerPoint...
Then press 'F Lock' again to reactivate the function lock.

I also had the problem with XP;
I went into the clipboard (start - run - clipbrd - ok) and there I saw that my screenshot was displayed in the clipboard but as soon as I released the print screen key the image disappeared:

So now for it to work, I press the print screen key without releasing it, I go into the software (for example, paint) and I paste, and only then can I release the print screen key;
