Hello,
I would like to know how to protect the borders of a cell when it is unlocked so that the content can be modified while the entire sheet is protected.
Thank you for your response
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 29.0.1547.76

Could you please elaborate???? -
In the "Protect Sheet" window, check "Format cells" among the permissions.

Hello Raymond, thank you for your response. However, my problem is still not resolved. In the sheet protection, I can check content, objects, and/or scenarios. All three boxes are checked. I have unlocked the cells whose content I want to remain editable. However, when we cut/paste, the border is changed, which alters the shape of my table.
Is there a way to also protect the borders? -
Sorry, but we must not be talking about the same software! I have Excel 2010 for PC; and there are no options to check "content, objects, and/or scenarios" either in Cell Format/Protection or in Review/Protect Sheet.
On the other hand, the cut-and-paste action is normally not intended to be used in a protected sheet, whose structure is essentially to be respected.
Finally, in a cut-and-paste, a paste options tooltip appears at the bottom right of the destination cell and allows you to choose whether the paste is done with or without formatting.
Kind regards.
