Hello, hello, I have a Toshiba laptop with a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit installation. When I connect my projector to it, nothing appears on the screen on the wall, and my laptop's desktop turns black. Can you help me solve this problem, thank you
Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 28.0.1500.95

Hello
Screen transfer from PC to video projector or TV
Turn on the TV or projector; the video connection will be VGA, S-video, composite (yellow RCA), or HDMI, as applicable. Except for HDMI, an audio connection must also be added.
On older TVs, you can use a SCART adapter to connect to S-video, composite, and audio inputs.
There are several ways:
Start with this simple method for newer PCs running Windows 7 and 8: press the “Windows” key + “P” key and choose your option “PC only, projector only” and duplicate, which is not relevant here.
Or another method:
* On your PC, right-click on the desktop
* Screen resolution
* Click on display the desktop only on 1 or 2
* Apply
* The image will then project onto the projection screen, and the computer screen will go black
* Click on the projection screen or TV by moving the mouse over “keep changes”
* OK
Repeat the process in reverse to get the image back on the PC.
Or turn off the projector; the image will automatically return (after a few seconds) to the PC monitor.
For audio, except in HDMI connection, connect through the audio output of the PC sound card to power the TV or an amplifier.
You need to align the display resolutions to the maximum of the least performant of the two screens.
Or explained this way:
1. VGA and DVI ports
2. To open Control Panel, click on the Start button, then on Control Panel.
3. In the search bar, type projector, then click on Connect to a projector.
(To use a keyboard shortcut instead of Control Panel, press the Windows key + P).
4. Select how you want to display the Desktop:
o PC only (this displays your Desktop only on your computer screen);
o Duplicate (this displays your Desktop on your computer screen and on a projector);
o Extend (this extends your Desktop from your computer screen to a projector);
o Projector only (this displays your Desktop only on a projector)
o For a TV screen, it's the same method

I have an Acer PC and the Connect to a projector tool does not open. I've formatted it but the problem persists.
