How to Migrate from 32 Bit to 64 Bit Without Data Loss?

Hello,
***first of all, I would like to thank the entire CCM team for their dedication to serving others selflessly. ***

So, I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade from the 32 Bit version to 64 Bit without losing data? (without reinstalling Windows 7)
because my problem is that my RAM (which is 4GB) is not being used to its full capacity by the system, but only 2.91GB is being utilized
it shows 2.97GB usable in system properties, see the screenshot:

and I know that this is because I accidentally installed the wrong version: x86
Can you provide a solution to this problem?
Thank you in advance,
Sarah.

Hi

No, it's not possible; the only way to go from 32 to 64 bits across all versions of Windows is a complete reinstallation.

However, if you do not format the partition/hard drive where the old installation of Windows is located, it will be stored in a Windows.old folder where you can recover your personal documents.

You will still need to reinstall all your programs and all the drivers compatible with 64 bits for your PC.

All this to be able to use 1GB of RAM that your PC may not be utilizing anyway. Having 4GB is only useful if you regularly fill the available 3GB ^^

Before asking a question: 1° The brain does not wear out if you use it, don't hesitate to use it!
2° Google is your friend, the search engine on CCM is too, do some research!
