[XP] My CD drive opens by itself

Question

Hello everyone,  so my problem is that when I turn on my PC, the CD drive opens by itself, it's really odd and I don't know what to do..   Thank you.

Here I am, I just had a problem with my drive, since my grandson had fun opening it without pressing the button and closing it like that, every time I turn on my PC, it opens by itself and even if I close it with or without the help of the button, it keeps opening on its own. It's really annoying..
If you have a small idea for the solution, I would be pleased, my PC is a Samsung Syncmaster 753s but the case is an Intel Inside Pentium Aqua that I bought in 2004.

no, I don’t think it’s the button that’s messing up, because the CD drive opens every time I turn on my PC and at the same spot.

Hello.  When you push the drawer of the drive back in, does it automatically open again?  What is the brand and model of your PC?  -- Knowledge is only wealth if it is shared.

The model is usually indicated on the central unit.

Try a restore point:

To perform a system restore, you do:

Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore.

Choose to restore to a date before your issue.

I had one like that: my drive would open by itself on startup, and when I closed it, it would open again. If I closed it and opened it right away, etc., it would work, but it still wouldn't read anything, and it would reopen. So it wasn't the push button. By holding the tray down, it stayed closed but didn't read anything, neither CDs, nor CD-Rs, nor DVDs. Four hours of misery in Device Manager, disabling the drive, uninstalling the driver, restarting. Then, a good smack where it counts, a frantic open-close from me and everything went back to normal. Sometimes, technology is magical...

Hello,
there was a dll that was used to turn the drawer into a "dispenser" for drinks.
Sorry, I couldn't find its name, but maybe it has inadvertently sneaked into your system.
To be confirmed by people who have better memory than I do!
