Hello,

I just bought a used Tally Genicom 9035 printer, we are installing it and everything is going smoothly, Windows 7 recognizes and installs it.

The problem we are encountering is during printing, we receive the following error message:

PCL XL ERROR

SUBsystems: KERNEL
ERROR: UnsupportedProtocol
Operator: Parent Stream
Position: 0

Do you know how I can fix my problem?

Thank you in advance

    Hello,

" The output from the Enhanced (PCL XL) driver may not be the same as the output from the Standard driver. If the output is not as expected, choose the Standard (PCL5e) driver instead." source http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpl03010

Windows chose the driver by itself and it got it wrong - that rascal!

PCL XL (Printer Command Language version 6) is not suitable for your printer - it seems (?)

I vote for searching for the appropriate driver on the official manufacturer's website. Followed by an uninstallation and then a reinstallation of the correct driver.

It's your turn, my friend adelaide62.

Best regards to all, users of cartridges and printers of all kinds and brands.

There is nothing programmable in obsolescence. This pseudo explanation called "programmed obsolescence" does not withstand close examination nor does it stand up to experience.

For drivers (32 bits and the latest version of Windows officially supported == VISTA)

My version of Windows is Windows 7 Home Premium edition, is that why it doesn't work?

Not necessarily, I think it should work.

I just read that it might be enough to reconnect or restart the printer.

Personally, I rather think that the PCL version of the driver is not the right one...

We just need to check that...

      Sincerely. :-)

Thank you, I just downloaded the Windows 32-bit pcl folder.

I have an EC file that is created with several files:
      server2003
      WIN9X
      WIN2000
      WINNT
      WINXP

but when I click on one of these files, I don't have the option to start the driver installation, they are files, there is no setup.
Should I copy these folders into my printer's folder?

      Thank you for your help.
