Motherboard Replacement

Solved

Hello, I just got my new motherboard, but I don't know how to uninstall the old one; what I mean is that I don't know if I need to remove its drivers before taking out the old motherboard.

Don't mention formatting, I've already changed motherboards without issues with Windows, but I wasn't the one who handled it.

So my question in short: do I need to uninstall the drivers for my current motherboard before removing it and installing the new one? How?

Thank you

Configuration: Windows 8 / Chrome 28.0.1500.72

    Hello,
You don't need to remove them right away.
You change the motherboard, you boot up, you install your new drivers, and you remove the old ones.
Moreover, there may be some that are identical between the two boards.

Thank you for this clear response, how should I go about deleting them afterwards?

You spot the files beforehand ;-)
In the properties of your hardware, you have the corresponding files.
Just to add, removing the utilities makes sense, it saves space.
The drivers only weigh a few hundred KB.
Do you really think that uninstalling the utilities from your old card isn't enough?
