Hello,

I have a tech-savvy friend who told me that I have a virus or trojan... Because when I press ctrl alt del and go to processes, it shows: igfxpers.exe and on my other laptop: igfxtray.exe and I don't know how to fix this issue...

If someone could help me, I would really appreciate it...!

P.S.: I'm not very knowledgeable about viruses...

Thank you,

fleur
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Hi

Is there a problem with these 2 processes? Are you sure?

Because...

igfxpers.exe:

Installed by the software provided with an Intel motherboard, this process allows you to utilize advanced functions of the integrated graphics controller.

If you delete this process, you risk experiencing display issues.

igfxtray.exe:
Installed by the software provided with an Intel motherboard, this process resides in the Windows notification area (to the right of the taskbar).

It appears as an icon that you can right-click to quickly access various advanced configuration settings of the integrated graphics controller on the motherboard.

If you delete this process, you risk experiencing display issues.

WARNING:
The Trojan (Trojan horse) PAdmin-A uses this process name.

However:
The presence of the process igfxtray.exe (igfxtray) may indicate the presence of the Trojan Troj/PAdmin-A.

So, download HijackThis here:
http://telechargement.zebulon.fr/138-hijackthis-1991.html

Unzip it into a designated folder.
For example C:\hijackthis < Make sure to save it in c: !

Launch it, then:
click on "do a system scan and save logfile" (see demo)
copy and paste the entire log on the forum

Good luck

See you later
