RBG to CMYK Color Space

Question

I am working with CS6 master collection for PC, and I'm stuck on how to change my color space from RGB to CMYK.

Are you thinking about the "color" window? ...

You can change the color mode in the options. You can access the options by clicking on the (very) small icon at the top right of the color window.
You should have 3 possible choices: Lab, CMYK, and RGB.

Either you modify the colors used via the swatch palette, or you convert everything during the export or printing to PDF using the desired profile.

In InDesign, you can freely mix objects in RGB, LAB, CMYK, Pantone, etc. It's up to you to manage your color space correctly according to the purpose of your document.

Thank you for your response, but actually I know which color space to use based on my needs.  What I can't figure out is how to change my color space; it is in RGB and I want it in CMYK.

Well, I followed your advice, but it hasn't changed anything, so I think I may not have been specific enough, because you're talking about the color palette when my issue is with the color selector.

I don't understand at all why I'm unable to change it.

Yes, I'm thinking of the "Color" window, but not with the options. I'm referring to the window that opens when you double-click on the fill or stroke color box, where you can enter values in either RGB, Lab, or CMYK, depending on your choice. In fact, this window is called the "Color Picker." The palette it offers is theoretically in CMYK mode, but on my end, it's in RGB, and that's the one I can't seem to change.

Mmoui same for me, but actually it doesn't matter too much, since if you click on a CMYK value box, you can add the color (in CMYK) to the swatch.

However, it would be interesting to limit the shades to those that are actually printable in CMYK...

Hello, why convert from RGB to CMYK, your PDF will be in CMYK either at the import stage or at the RIP level. Generally, the curve at the RIP level is correct (Heidelberg certification).
