Hello,

I made a bootable USB drive twice with the Kali ISO, twice from different downloads.
The first time I created the bootable USB drive from Linux, the other time from Windows 7 using "unetbootin-windows-583".
Both times, during the installation, the installer said it could not find the Release file "on the CD" or that it was unreadable.
I first thought that the ISO was defective, which is why I tried again with the re-downloaded ISO file.

Now I see that there are indeed Release files on the USB drive, but they are completely empty.

What should I do??? It's not that hard to install something from a bootable USB drive Oo.

Thanks everyone,

Suu

Hi,

Have you checked the integrity of your "iso" image before burning it by comparing its MD5 checksum?

Hello,

I did try, but the md5 file on the USB stick after the "burning" was empty too.
Does this mean that the iso was indeed corrupted?

Is it "less risky" to get it via torrent than direct download?

Thanks

Suu

As a general rule, the MD5 file can be found on the download site alongside the ISO image;-\

For the feedback after 3 failed direct downloads, the DL via torrent worked on the first try :-p
