Hello,
I bought Epson ink cartridges for my printer, but unfortunately I realized upon installing (well, just one) that it wasn't the right model. Never mind.
The question I have is that I wanted to pass them on to someone who could use them, but I removed the yellow protective tab from the ink cartridge and I was wondering if there would be any consequences? Like, would the cartridge dry out, not work, or something else?
The plastic film that protects the ink outlet is still closed, it’s intact.
Thanks in advance to anyone who will respond while passing through this seemingly deserted section (humor, of course :) ).
Best regards
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hello;
The yellow "tab" you removed is the one that protects the small printed circuit board integrated into the cartridge, and if you don't touch this circuit, you can put everything back in a closed package and donate it to friends, but don't wait too long anyway.

Regarding these cartridges, no, it doesn't protect the printed circuit. It is located at the front of the cartridge, this printed circuit, and is unprotected...
There, the yellow tab is situated in line with the ink output, actually a bit further away, not glued. It is a hollow plastic shape with a small hole like an "air vent" or something similar...
Can you specify the exact model of this printer and the reference of the inappropriate cartridges received?
Best regards.
Incorrect cartridges: "EPSON T1286 Multipack Plus" for printers
Epson Stylus: SX230/SX235W/SX420W/SX440W/SX445W or
Epson Stylus Office: BX305F/BX305FW/BX305FW Plus
This adhesive tape is to be removed anyway during the installation of these cartridges >> So if removed, stick a piece of tape in its place and inform the person who will inherit this cartridge >> Seen here
