24" LG Flatron W2453SQ Screen Problem: Not Turning On

Hello,
Last night while playing SimCity, there was a "POW" on my screen, like something exploded, followed by an immediate black screen.
Observation: Impossible to turn on the screen, no LED lights up anywhere. I changed the power cable, plugged the screen into another PC, nothing works. Basically, no sign of life...
The PC itself is fine; it didn't crash during the "POW", I could still hear sound from the speakers and the game was still running, and since I didn't turn off the computer when I unplugged the screen that crashed, I plugged in another screen to safely turn off the PC.
Of course, I'm not stupid; I imagine the screen is saying "Goodbye" 99% of the time.
But,... do you think it could just be a blown fuse or a capacitor?
And so this leads to the question: How do I open the screen? I only have access to 2 screws, and once removed, nothing moves.
Thank you for the attention you will give to my "slight" issue.
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 26.0.1410.64

Hello
Uh yeah, this could be a capacitor (don't kid yourself, there are no fuses these days lol).
If it exploded, it surely damaged the surrounding area...
Moreover, it's always a real hassle to take apart...
Did you not have a surge protector?

Hi and thank you for your reply. No, it's a standard power strip; during a LAN party, only my monitor was affected. I'm trying to disassemble it tomorrow... I understand that with a credit card, you need to unclip all around.

Hi, here are the news after disassembly. Indeed, something burned out, it's a STK0765 transistor. It's tricky to find, I can only find it in China, so shipping time = over a month. I've heard about possible equivalent components?
