How to activate my second graphics card?

Hi, I recently bought a new laptop that has two graphics cards, an Intel HD Graphics 4000 for normal use or when the battery is low, and an Nvidia GeForce 630M for more demanding applications. When I try to detect my PC's components (Can you run it; Run > dxdiag; etc.), it always detects the Intel! I have selected "Nvidia high performance processor" in the global settings tab of the Nvidia control panel! How can I ensure that my Nvidia is running and not the Intel?

Hello
On some phones, there is a key to switch from one card to another.
What is the brand and model of your PC?

Hi and first of all thank you for your response. I don't think I have that kind of touch (it would have been visible otherwise) and my PC is an HP ENVY dv6-7290sf. Here is its technical sheet for more details: http://www.microchoix.ma/fiche-143106-HP_ENVY_dv6_7290sf___Core_i7_3630QM___2_4_GHz___Windows_8_64bits.html

Look in the Device Manager to see if you have both graphics cards.
You can probably enable or disable one GPU.
But your > Mobile Intel® HM77 Express Chipset graphics is probably better than your dedicated Nvidia GeForce 630M graphics card.

Thank you for the tip, I disabled the Intel but now it doesn't detect either of the two on Can You Run It! However, on Ma-config.com it only detects the GT630M. I don't understand anything anymore!

hi

the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is less powerful than the GT 630M

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
Intel HD Graphics 4000 = position 241
GT 630M = position 164

see you
