Hello, when I download software it works one time out of two. Most of the time a message appears: "ERROR LAUNCHING INSTALLER". I can't take it anymore, I can barely download anything even the most basic software like VLC media player! I read somewhere that I should rename the software or change its folder but that still doesn't work...
Please if you have a solution, take the time to respond..

"Even the most basic software like VLC": I hope at least you're downloading from official sources (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ for VLC).
"ERROR LAUNCHING INSTALLER": this seems to be a corruption of Windows installer.
If the first "solution", downloading from the right place and not from installers stuffed with ads and adware, doesn't work, open a console by:
- On Windows Vista/7/8, searching for "cmd", then right-clicking -> open as administrator
- On Windows XP, pressing Windows + R, typing "cmd" in the window then hitting enter
A black window will appear. Enter the text "sfc /scannow", press enter and wait.

A big thank you to Gravgun, I had the same problem with "error launching installer" and thanks to you everything is sorted out. Your help was clear, concise, and precise. THANK YOU.
If you're on Windows 8, I think searching for "Command Prompt" in the settings should be enough (you need to click on it to launch it, of course).
